Wednesday Rundown: Rejoice, For ESPN Has Finally Fired Sean Salisbury
Published 2/27/2008 by Anthony Hall at MVN Outsider
... Sean Salisbury is no longer an employee of ESPN — after 12 years with The Worldwide Leader, he was let go by the network last night. I’m glad to hear this news…now, we won’t be subjected to another football season of those “Four Downs” segments on SportsCenter, in which Salisbury and John Clayton insult each other for 5-6 minutes (you know, because compelling television cannot be created unless those two disagree on everything). But this isn’t just a good development for ESPN viewers — indeed, it’s ...

... work at HBO's Inside the NFL, and also used to catch passes from Salisbury with the Vikings.  I'm not terribly familiar with the work Carter did at HBO, so I couldn't tell you if he'll be better or worse than Salisbury. I can tell you that he'll be better than Emmitt Smith, though, but I still doubt Emmitt will lose his plum gig on the Sunday morning pregame show. • Sean Salisbury says parting with ESPN was mutual / Los Angeles Times • Breaking News: Sean Salisbury Out At ESPN / Awful Announcing • Breaking News: ESPN ...

... attacks is a very low threshold to meet. Think about it, De La Hoya couldn't intelligently defend himself during the entirety of the Mayweather fight and that fight went the distance. I'm not saying that they should have stopped that fight but just think about how wishy-washy that language is. One ref's intelligent defense could easily be an other's TKO. Also, think about how unintelligently defensive Sean Salisbury is was to John Clayton and they didn't stop those...wait oops. ...

Sean Salisbury tells LA Times parting w/ESPN was mutual
The venerable Larry Stewart at our fellow Tribune paper in L.A. has a little more to the story of Sean Salisbury's departure from ESPN. He did not name names. Thus I have no idea exactly which former jocks ...
