STEVE SMITH BEATS UP KEN LUCAS
ProFootballTalk.com — Every time we mention the 2002 incident during which Panthers receiver Steve Smith cold-cocked former teammate Anthony Bright in the film room, we’re chastised for dredging up ancient events and ignoring how much Smith has changed. Yeah, he’s changed.  He now fights his teammates out in the open. According to Steve Reed of CarolinaGrowl.com, Smith beat the crap out of cornerback Ken Lucas on the team’s practice field. During a Friday morning session at the Panthers’ Wofford College training camp, Smith and Lucas got into a fight while on the sidelines during a special teams ...

NFL Power Rankings: 1-15
The Big Lead — ... . Couple things to keep in mind: This is simply how we’d rank the teams entering the season based on arbitrary things like schedule, offseason acquisitions, the draft, etc, so Steve Smith, please do not beat our ass like you did Ken Lucas. Just because we’ve got a team first, it doesn’t mean they’re our Super Bowl pick. ...

Sports Crackle Pop — This morning at Carolina Panthers practice, wide receiver Steve Smith and cornerback Ken Lucas fought during a sideline altercation. “The two men were on the sidelines while other members of the team were working through special teams drills when the fight broke out. It took several people to restrain the men and restore order.” Ken Lucas was then taken under a tent ...

Lucas Had 3.3 Million Reasons Not To Play In Detroit
ProFootballTalk.com — ... in Detroit, the deal died. On March 11, the Panthers cut Lucas. He later landed in Seattle, via a one-year deal.  And it pays him only $2.3 million. So, basically, Lucas gave up $3.3 million to not play for the Lions. He’ll get to face the team he spurned on November 8.  If the Lions’ record at the time is as good or better than Seattle’s (hey, stranger stuff has happened), we’ve got a feeling that a few of the Detroit players will give him an earful. Or maybe one of them will simply punch him in the face .
