15 Reasons To Watch The Games in the NBA Tonight: 1. A Mirror-Image. Only The Other Side Is 10 Times Better/Worse Than You: It's the battle of Big 3 components when Boston heads to Jersey. You just imagine Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson standing there, looking at Garnett, Pierce, and Allen (if the ...
Brendan Haywood ... second-best center in the East?
Published 1/11/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
I have 30 teams to pay attention, ten or 11 rotation players
on each roster to lord over, and I'm bound to miss some things. Some of you no
doubt would have me missing more than "some" things.
So I was pretty chuffed to take in an email from one of the
brains behind Bullets Forever, one Mike Prada, regarding the
sustained excellence of Brendan Haywood.
You heard me.
Haywood got off to a hot start to begin 2007-08, it was
dutifully noted by most, and he's been more or less forgotten since then. I
actually haven't looked much at his stats since early December, and it took
this recent ...
Orlando Magic News for January 11th - Dwight is a Dad
Published 1/11/2008 by Ben Q Rock <info@thirdquartercollapse.com> at Third Quarter Collapse: Front Page Posts
Slow news day. Goodness. In non-basketball news, Dwight Howard is the father of a baby boy who was born on November 18th. The Orlando Sentinel reports the mother is Royce Reed, who was an Orlando Magic Dancer during the 2005/2006 season. Oddly enough, she spent last year as a Miami Heat dancer. She now joins Rony Seikaly, Shaquille O'Neal, and Michael Doleac as people who have worked for both Florida-based NBA teams. Congratulations, Dwight. Just stay away from Jason Maxiell for a while. Also from the Sentinel: ABC has picked up the Magic/Celtics game on January 27th. Tipoff has been moved up to 1 PM. It's ...

Mr. Irrelevant’s Other Half Returns | Home From Courtside for Wizards-Celtics in D.C. By Jamie Mottram | January 13, 2008 A night after overtime victory in Atlanta, Washington beat the NBA’s best , providing their first victory against a winning team since early December. Unsilent Majority and I were courtside (both donning blogwear, of course) and damn near stormed the floor in the exalted closing moments (not really, but still). It was that type of night at the Phone Booth, filled up as much for the visiting Celtics as for the home five. Boston fans were everywhere, sporting Patriots jerseys and caps and ...
Wizards and Caron Butler Starting To Make Me Look Smart

... Antawn Jamison continues to improve in his veteran leader role, averaging 20 and 10 on his way to his 2nd all-star appearance, which makes it almost mind boggling that he’s supposed to be the 3rd wheel. The underrated Antonio Daniels is everything a coach wants in a point guard and floor general and there’s no mistaking why his teams consistently win. DeShawn Stevenson’s play is catching up to his mouth and Brendan Haywood has emerged as the second best center in the East. ...
BulletsForever Q&A
Published 2/13/2008 by ClipperSteve <info@clipsnation.com> at Clips Nation: Front Page Posts
Continuing our new tradition, I sent some quick questions to Pradamaster from the terrific SBNation blog BulletsForever. Here are his answers to my Bullets Wizards questions. My answers to his questions will be linked soon. ClipperSteve: The Wizards have had much more success without Gilbert Arenas than the Clippers have had without Elton Brand. Is there any explanation for the relative differences in the impact of a lost All Star on these two teams? BulletsForever: I suppose the best answer would be to look at the surrounding casts of these two teams, at least those ...

... Bradley: According to this report from EuroBasket, he got released from CB Granada last month.
Jason Collins: He laughs at the 4th pick from this draft.
Zach Randolph: He won the Most Improved Player award back in 2004 and he had solid numbers while in Portland. Then Isiah Thomas traded for him.
Brendan Haywood: After some up and down years, Brendan finally leveled out his play this year, arguably becoming the 2nd best center in the East.
Joseph Forte: You can catch him in Italy ...
