  The "how do you spell retard?" response demonstrates a lot of balls, but ranks just above "I know you are, but what am I?" on the wittiness scale.

  I don't really condone that kind of behavior - he is supposed to be in a professional environment. However, once you factor in the media - the way they push at people, asking questions that they already know the answers to ["hey, you just lost the game - how do you feel??" how do you THINK he feels?].. while they are, once again, supposed to be professional, they're athletes. Their lives revolve around testosterone and immediate reactions. And with reporters pushing at them, it's not really surprising that a response like that would come out.
