Brewers' offense no where to be found

Friday night’s game between the Florida Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers was your classic pitchers’ duel. Scott Olsen went for the Fish and the Brewers countered with Yovani Gallardo. Olsen gave the Brewers plenty of chances to score, but the Brewers didn’t feel like taking advantage of any of those chances. The Marlins bullpen pitched stronger and the Fish held on for a 3-0 win in 10 innings.

THT Live:Gallardo has a Torn ACL

Yovani Gallardo has a torn ACL in his right knee after a collision with Reed Johnson at first base in yesterday's start. No word yet on the plans for surgery. He was able to pitch two innings afterwards so maybe they'll just go without it for now. Surgery would likely chew up most of Gallardo's 2008 season.

Odds And Ends: Neshek, Gallardo, Casanova, Henn, Haynes
Couple of injuries, couple of designations, and a waiver claim. Twins reliever Pat Neshek has an acute partial tear of the UCL . Yes, that's the Tommy John ligament. I remember hearing over the winter that Neshek was having elbow problems. Not that we didn't ...

Not Our Best Week
It was just about a week ago that we learned that Yovani Gallardo tore his ACL. The Brewers were just coming off of an inspired series victory over the Cubs at Wrigley with a 9th inning comeback. Is It Still Early for the Cardinals and Brewers?
In general, most baseball fans respond to the early-season unexpected in the same way: with a shrug and an, "it's early." That's fine to an extent, but when does that stop? I'm asking, particularly in regards to the NL Central where the Cardinals sit up top with a 20-12 record and the Brewers sit at 16-15, almost as close to the 12-19 Pirates as the division leading Cards. Clearly, anything ...

Fire Ned Yost Now
I think there is one thing everybody can agree on in the wake of the Yovanni Gallardo injury: Ned Yost should be fired. Today. Without delay.
