... According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Brewers are not engaged in trade talks for Orioles closer George Sherrill. The O's are looking for a shortstop, and the Brewers aren't willing to part with J.J. Hardy or Alcides Escobar. Makes more sense to wait until Escobar forces their hand, anyway. ...

Quick thoughts here: Do the Tigers have the prospects to trade to buy? Even if they do, should they trade prospects, given how barren the shelf is getting? I say no.
One name bandied about is George Sherrill, the Orioles’ closer. According a report from the Baltimore Sun (via MLB Trade Rumors), the Orioles want two or three prospects. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel adds, the O’s would like a shortstop.
