Brewers Busy Again, Close to Acquiring Durham
Published 7/20/2008 by Rob Harding at Hot Foot
MLB.com is reporting that the Brewers and Giants are nearing a deal that would send veteran 2B Ray Durham to the Brewers for a duo of minor leaguers. Durham is hitting .293 with the Giants this year and would move into a platoon with 2B Rickie Weeks if dealt.
The Brewers are really trying to go for it this year, with the reality that they could be without Sabathia and Ben Sheets next year if they both leave via free agency.

"Personally it was out of respect for the guys in this locker room,"
Durham said, saying his goodbyes in the Giants' clubhouse. "It really

Brewers’ skipper Ned Yost opted to give second-year pitcher Manny Parra the #3 slot in the rotation after the All-Star break…and Parra continues to prove Yost’s decision to be a good one.
Parra fanned nine and earned his 9th win of the year Sunday, going 7 2/3rds innings, and only allowing 2 earned runs to lower his ERA for the year to 3.68. The Crew also handed Giants’ phenom Tim Lincecum his 3rd loss of the year, tagging him for 5 ER’s over 6 IP…Corey Hart and Ryan Braun paced the offense with a home run apiece, their 16th and 24th on the year, respectively–Braun drove in 5 of the 7 runs on the day.
