New York Yankees Fan Blog — ... to accept the Yanks' eventual arbitration offer. Brian Cashman told Matthews, "I'd be very happy if he did that." Despite the bad feelings surrounding A-Rod, the Yanks have to make that offer (and Cashman said they will ). Either they end up with the best player on the planet as a Yankee for one more season, or they get a couple of compensatory draft picks. Either way, it's worth the gamble.
