Fish Goes 1-On-1 With Newly-Signed Cowboys Star DeMarcus Ware
DallasBasketball.com —
... did not pay him the reported figure of $78 million, I just learned after speaking with the All-Pro pass-rusher. The actual total given him by Jerry Jones is $78,000,001 – and I have the photographic evidence of that extra dollar. "I've got it right here in my pocket,'' Ware told me late Monday night, reaching for an autographed buck that is suitable for framing. That story - and a bushel of other vignettes - from Part 1 of my one-on-one visit with DeMarcus Ware … Please visit my Cowboys coverage at Blogging The Boys … thanks! ...
Ware's deal actually is worth $78,000,001
ProFootballTalk.com —
FOX's Jay Glazer was wrong on Monday when reporting that Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware had signed a $78 million deal. Actually, the contract is worth $78,000,001. According to Mike Fisher of Blogging The Boys, who interviewed Ware in the wake of the mega-deal, owner Jerry Jones gave Ware a $1 bill with a message written on it : "This is my last offer. Your great. Jerry Jones." (It's nice to see that even really rich guys get "your" and "you're" screwed up sometimes.) Ware also said that a "handshake deal" was struck on Sunday, before the Cowboys' 37-21 win over the ...

Blogging The Boys brings us a grab bag of DeMarcus Ware goodness in the wake of his big, fat contract. (I'd mock his affinity for that Black Eyed Peas song "I Got A Feeling," but I've seen what he does to quarterbacks.)
Anyway, no story from the signing was better than the one of the 78,000,001st dollar bill in the deal:
JERRY'S DOLLAR: The Cowboys owner approached Ware on Monday after the new contract extension was finalized. It's a six-year, $78 million deal that guarantees him at least $40 million, running ...
EXCLUSIVE: Cowboys Star DeMarcus Ware On His Money, His Legacy And His 'Crazy-Stupid'
DallasBasketball.com —
... when an athlete signs his "deal of a lifetime'' -- and that's what this six-year, $78,000,000 (and 1) deal with the Cowboys represents for DeMarcus Ware -- his mind whizzes through three phases of realization: One, he thinks about his family. Two, he thinks about his legacy. And three, he thinks about what crazy-stupid thing he's going to buy. In the second of Blogging The Boys' two-part exclusive interview with the new possessor of the largest contract in Cowboys history ( part 1 is here ), I learn that DeMarcus' "three phases of realization'' regarding his money are ...
Mavs Monday Morning Donuts: Happy Birthday!
DallasBasketball.com —
... deals that can only be evaluated after all the results are in – and even then the “evaluation’’ is fake-deep. If the Cowboys were to beat Seattle, “Victory Monday’’ would automatically be deemed a success. A Cowboys loss, and it would automatically be the fault of “Victory Monday.’’ Victory Monday was revisionist history waiting to happen. … so now that Dallas was successful, does Wade get credit for the proper handling of his club? DONUT 12: The National Football Post reacts to my story about DeMarcus Ware’s 78,000,001th dollar by reporting that some NFL people are ...
