Isiah Compares the Cavs to the Early 90’s Bulls
BallerBlogger.com —
From Sam Smith of Bulls.com:
The Celtics are old, tired from playing too many games last season in winning the championship (though I like Spurs coach Gregg Popovich’s take in the San Antonio Express best as he said, “Who else gets 30 or 45 days off before they have to go back to work? How much off time do you need?”), too many tough games in two seven game series, Rondo can’t shoot (though it is KG lately at 39 percent in January) and there’s no bench. You say they won the championship last season? They aren’t panicking ...
Isiah Thomas: LeBron And Cavs Like Early 90s Bulls
MOUTHPIECE Blog // A Chicago-Addled Sports Blog —
... And with the Celtics being the team to beat if the Cavs want to advance to the Finals, Isiah Thomas is seeing shades of early-90s Pistons-Bulls in these two teams. Via Sam Smith at Bulls.com: ...
Rumor: Deal to send Nash to Raptors could happen
Fanster.com —
According to Bulls.com’s Sam Smith, there are rumblings around the NBA that the Suns could be close to trading two-time MVP Steve Nash to the Toronto Raptors.
…Steve Nash already has been talking about finishing his career (his contract expires in 2010) in New York or back home in Canada. Why not sooner? I’ve heard speculation about such a possibility around the NBA and recently heard from e-mailer Stephen in Phoenix raising it as well. It’s an intriguing proposition. The Suns start to look beyond ...
Hollinger, Joey/Hump and a Nash trade idea
Raptors Republic - ESPN TrueHoop's Raptors Blog —
Sam Smith woke up this morning and couldn’t figure out what to write, so he thought he’d make something up. He came up with this. Let’s play along though, commenter BujuBosh came up with this trade idea which would send Nash, Barbosa and Barnes to Phoenix for Calderon (BYC), Kapono, Parker and Jamario Moon. The best player in this trade might be Nash but I think Jose Calderon’s inflated NBA value might be high enough for this to happen. Is it a good trade for Toronto? I don’t think so, we already saw how Dallas got burned trying to acquire a PG whose best years were behind him. And they were ...
How Soon Before Steve Nash Gets Sent Back North of the Border?
The Big Lead —
... Trade Steve Nash?: Sam Smith of NBA.com floats this - “Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Robin Lopez for Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker and Jason Kopono and perhaps Jamario Moon to equalize salaries. Nash still has quite a bit left and would be hugely popular returning to Toronto. Barbosa can be a two guard scoring option while Lopez is a defensive big man to complement Bosh. The Suns get a point guard for the future and perimeter big man to complement Stoudemire, though they take on some contracts.” ...
Will Phoenix Trade Steve Nash To Toronto?
Hooped Up —
If the Phoenix Suns trade Steve Nash to the Toronto Raptors, my chances of getting this wicked job has hope too. According to Sam Smith, the Phoenix Suns have been offered a deal by the Toronto Raptors that would have Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker, Jason Kopono and perhaps Jamario Moon going to the Suns. Going back to Toronto would be Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Robin Lopez.
This deal makes a lot of sense for Toronto because it would have the best player ever Canada has ever produced (sorry Bill Wennington) coming back home. Plus the Suns, might as well make a deal for a new point ...
Pick and Roll - Trade Rumors Edition: Nash to Orlando? Stoudemire to Dallas?
Fanster.com —
(Photo: Rob Schumacher/The Arizona Republic) With the NBA trade deadline looming, Mark and I tried to talk some of the trade rumors we heard in the Association’s corridors and give Steve Kerr some bright ideas in the making. Come on Steve, let’s make a deal !
Mark: Steve Nash to Toronto? Sam Smith has made a living out of this type of thing, getting fanbases in a huff and supplying fuel to talk radio hosts everywhere. Doesn’t mean the rumors he’s so fond of throwing at the wall ever stick though. What Sam fails to realize is ...
