Safety James Butler officially signed his qualifying offer from the Giants on Monday, ending his unsuccessful foray into restricted free agency. Butler, 25, had received the “second-round tender” offer, meaning that any team that wanted to sign him as a free agent would’ve had to give the Giants a second-round pick as compensation.
