Red Sox pitcher David Aardsma (groin) and shortstop Julio Lugo (quad tear) were examined by Dr. Peter Asnis Monday in Boston. Originally, both were scheduled to have MRIs, but that exam was not performed. Aardsma had x-rays taken, which were negative. Fenway West - A Boston Red Sox Blog — Good news on the injury front. Aardsma had X-rays taken today (negative) and is going to begin a short rehab period. Lugo's injury is not as bad as thought so he will be able to resume rehabbing also and could join the team in mid September. Mike Lowell is also joining the team in New York and should come off of the DL soon. ...
