Sunday rant #1 - I have been flaky this weekend and not paying attention to much in the hockey world (chronicling not one but two disasters can tire a mere mortal) so I missed the ordeal over at Covered In Oil . I’d recommend you read his account since the details are not to be missed. A few weeks ago the streets and Skytrain stations of Vancouver were plastered with posters to advertise the new Canucks season. The theme, “We are All Canucks”, and the unique twist is that they used photos of players in plain-clothes, fans on the concourse, and snapshots of hockey bloggers and podcasters.

The other day the Canucks Fanzone introduced a Canucks branded upgrade for Fire Fox browsers.
Essentially it turns the navigation area into a control panel for the Canucks website (i.e. quick access to stats, schedules, the message boards, etc) plus it also cycles the headlines of the latest feature stories from the team onto your browser. There’s also a “light” option once you get it installed, which still has the useful features but reduces the Canucks branding if you prefer.
