... when are you going to hit 500?’ I told him, ‘Eh, I’ll hit it this year.’ And then I said, ‘Hey, if I hit my 500 home runs this week are they going to pick up my two ($20 million contract) options?’ We both laughed.
“I’m going to do it this year, so I just relax. I’m going to hit eventually, so why do I have to do it this week? You know what, if I do hit 500 I’m still going to have to hit 497 (which he did), 498 and 499. It will happen.”
Kevin Cash had a solid night behind and at the plate last night.
