Celtics Begin Title Defense with Emotional Win
LOY's PLACE a celtics green blog — ... As for the rotation, Giddens, Walker and Cassell were on the inactive list. Patrick O'Bryant, Scal, and Gabe Pruitt were active, but didn't play. Leon Powe also came up big, scoring 13 points, and every basket he scored seemed to be at the most critical time. This was a nice opening-night win, as the Celtics looked like themselves in the second half. More importantly, they came away with a win in which KG, Sugar Ray, and Eddie House just couldn't get it going. Those types of wins are always extra-nice. Click here for the box score.
