The NFL owners’ unanimous decision to opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement is going to make it tougher for teams to negotiate player contracts. When GMs and agents sit down at the negotiating table, they will have additional hurdles to overcome, knowing that 2009 is the last capped year and 2010 is an uncapped year. In 2011, there could be a work stoppage. How will this affect the Jets? Fortunately for them, they don’t have too many “big” contracts coming ... [link]
