(...conversation between Kevin Garnett and his new Celtics teammates. )

Considering that everyone showed up for workouts in Waltham early in the morning, many also took in the Women’s World Cup on ESPN.

Wouldn’t you know it, Garnett seemed to know more than anyone else about soccer.

So imagine the big guy’s reaction when coach Doc Rivers unveiled plans for the second leg of the Celtics’ exhibition trip to Europe -- including the first week in Rome and the second in London.

It seems that Rivers secured tickets for the team that second week to a game between Arsenal and Sunderland.

“Arsenal?” a stunned Garnett, sounding like a CYO kid offered tickets to a Celtics-Pistons game, asked of his new coach. “Did you say Arsenaaaal?”
