Charlie Bell: Worst Season Ever
Published 1/2/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
... hotly pursued Milwaukee back-up Charlie Bell this summer; Bell, angry with Milwaukee's offers, flirted with a Greek team before signing a five-year, $18 million offer sheet with Miami. Milwaukee, of course, matched, further angering Charlie. (Dwyer notes this is likely the most contract drama a back-up point guard has ever engaged in.) What'd all the fireplay amount to for the Bucks? Possibly the worst NBA season for a player ever, as The Bratwurst tells it. Bell is now shooting .267 this year, and has managed to play 594 ...
Something happened to Charlie Bell

... offer sheet he
signed with the Miami Heat, but by all accounts he had put his personal
frustrations behind him by the time training camp came around, and (to these eyes)
wasn't in any worse shape than his first two seasons in Milwaukee. So why is he
knocking in just slightly better than one in four shots this season? And how
does this season stack up with the all-time worst shooting seasons in NBA
history? I'll let Brett from the Bucks blog The
Bratwurst take over from here:

Kobe Bryant is considering a new type of surgery. Personally, I hope he doesn't try it, I think he's good the way he is.
Charlie Bell is having the worst season in NBA history. On the bright side, the Bucks only lost by 45 to the Pistons, so it's not all bad. Oh wait...

Thebratwurst.com -- Charlie Bell Headed For Worst Shooting Percentage Ever
Published 1/2/2008 by HM at Hoops and Other Pop Culture
http://thebratwurst.com/?p=247 Excellent work on this. I only wish I had uncovered this amazing factoid of suckiness myself. While Bell apparently (as my dad would say) "cannot hit a bull in the ass with a barrel of full of nickels," his per-48 OVERALL statistical production is STILL superior to the production of 7 mostly-former Timberwolves so far this year. Bell is #370 in the NBA in efficiency per 48, better than: Darrick Martin -- 380 Mark Blount -- 394 Juwan Howard -- 395 Trenton Hassell -- 398 Richie Frahm -- 400 Troy Hudson -- 401 ...
Bucks 103, Heat 98: Recap
Published 1/3/2008 by frank <info@brewhoop.com> at Brew Hoop
... Charlie Bell (12 points) and Bobby Simmons (11) each scored in double figures. Not a big deal, right? Considering Simmons averaged 13.4 ppg and Bell 13.5 in their last full seasons, that should be happening all the time. Well, 31 games into the season this marks the first time those two guys have scored in double figures in the same game. Maybe Charlie got the memo that he's having the worst season in NBA history. Simmons meanwhile showed some rhythm for the first time since leaving the team for his personal absence. After a difficult start to the season on many levels, ...

If you don't know anything else about the Bucks, here's what you need to know for tonight: Michael Redd might not play tonight after injuring his thigh and Charlie Bell is really, really bad. Sign #240,579 that D.C. is still a football town: even the Wizards care more about the Redskins than they do about the Wizards. Sign #240,580 that D.C. is still a football town: The Redskins had the top two D.C.
