... Charlotte Bobcats managing partner Michael Jordan is considering old friend Rod Higgins for the vacant general manager's role. Two sources familiar with the situation said Higgins is the preferred candidate and a deal is close at hand. Higgins, 47, is the Golden State Warriors' GM, and the Bobcats got permission to interview him during the weekend. Bobcats spokesman B.J. Evans confirmed discussions with Higgins are ongoing. Jordan is in Florida for this week's NBA pre-draft camp in suburban Orlando.
