Chase's Four Letter Fallout
Chase's Four Letter Fallout
First off, if you haven't seen the video, catch it here . Like many of you, I watched last night's Home Run Derby in hopes of seeing Chase Utley showcase his sweet swing to a national audience. While Chase failed to really get his long ball groove going at Yankee Stadium, Josh Hamilton had the hitting spectacle on lockdown. That guy was impressive. Upon viewing Chase being introduced ...

Utley Apologizes
Mets Heads — To be fair, I said earlier that Utley has no class for his Derby intro expletive. The Phillies site 700 level forwards an apology from the ever-slick haired second baseman: ...

Hamiltonmania, Rick Reilly On Race, And Chase Utley Tells New York Fans Where To Shove It [Home Run Derby Blogdome]
Deadspin — ... • Chase's Four-Letter Fallout. It was a mistake on Utley's part and he knew it. But Chase is a good guy and good guys make amends. After the game, he set us straight, "I do want to apologize because it was definitely a poor choice of words. I really didn't mean anything by it. I was kind of just joking around with my buddy over there [Uggla], so again, I do want to apologize." [The 700 Level] ...

The Fightins — ... This story has been covered from every possible angle (just like your mom — sorry, that was too easy). For all you could ever need or want to know about this non-issue, I defer to those always-on-the-ball gentlemen over at The 700 Level (except for that slacker whatshisface… Camouflage Davis or some asshole name like that). ...

Chase Utley, You Are The Man!
Poor Sports: Bitter Philly Sports Fans Sound Off — ... BUT, the bigger story to Philly fans was Chase's reaction to being booed upon the intros. Sure, if the All-Star game was in Philly, and David Wright stepped up to the plate, you can believe that he's getting the treatment. Regardless, Chase took offense, and I would too, and reacted like anyone else would. The video is pretty funny, check it out below. I wonder how many Mets fans were in attendance? I did see a few jerseys in the crowd, but it seemed like a Yankees dominated affair, which is obvious considering it was in the Bronx. ...

Evening Shade: Interleague play brings Utley back to the Bronx
Big League Stew — ... (right, in the Bono costume) returns to the borough (though not necessarily the fan base) that booed him during the Home Run Derby a season ago. ...

sportsyenta.blogspot.com 7/15/2008 — 1. While Josh Hamilton put on a show that even impressed my non-sports enjoying roommate, my favorite moment of Monday's Home Run Derby was Chase Utley's introduction. Fans inside the stadium booed Utley as he was announced, provoking this reaction from the Phillies second baseman: "Boo? Fuck you." It was one of the funniest live television moments I've seen in a while, most likely because ...

Lidge enjoys experience, if not resultMajor League Baseball News 7/16/2008
Brad Lidge didn't pitch until the 15th, when he gave up two hits and a sac fly by the Rangers' Michael Young to give the American League a 4-3 victory. Lidge took the loss, while Phillies teammate Chase Utley started and went 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
