Yankees fans = meh. They’re just obnoxious. Kind of like Philly fans. So you would think that if a guy like Chase Utley — a Phil himself — got booed by a bunch of New Yorkers are a freaking Home Run Derby , then he would know how to ...Posted 7/15/2008 on Stanley Cup of Chowder
The fans of New York have mixed feelings when it comes to those who wear the red pinstripes of the Philadelphia Phillies . The New York fans heartily booed Chase Utley when he was introduced before last night's Home Run Derby. The stunned Utley responded by dropping an F-bomb, which was picked up by one of ESPN's microphones. I think "Boo? F*** you" will be my fantasy team name next year. ...Posted 7/15/2008 on Depressed Fan
Here's the video of Chase Utley's f-bomb during introductions last night at the Home Run Derby in Yankee Stadium. See what happens when you let Mets fans into the Bronx?Posted 7/15/2008 on Phillies Nation
Chase Utley hit five home runs and didn’t make it out of the Home Run Derby’s first round last night. No big deal, really. I was content watching Josh Hamilton treat Yankee Stadium like a Guns N Roses pinball machine. The real story with Utley this morning isn’t really a story at all, just a hilarious slip in a moment of sarcasm. Josh Hamilton hit 28 home runs in the first round of the 2008 All-Star Game Home Run Derby (besting Bobby Abreu's 2005 single round mark of 24), including a handful that were measured at 500+ feet. Justin Morneau walked away with the Derby hardware thanks to a total of 22 long balls. Chase Utley? Well, he dropped an F-bomb on live television. I'm a big Chase Utley fan. He's got one of the ...Posted 7/14/2008 on Bugs & Cranks
I ain’t scurred to admit it — I enjoy the Home Run Derby. Call it a guilty pleasure but I enjoy watching bomb after bomb at the All-Star Game. Granted, the lack of glamorous sluggers the likes of Ken Griffey Jr. and Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa diminishes the contest a wee-bit but if there’s a baseball fan out there that doesn’t want to see Josh Hamilton and Chase ...The Big Lead found this 29 days ago on www.philly.com
