tziller Utley is a hero. -
phanatic74 I'm sure most players would have the same reaction, but he was unfortunate enough to have a live mic nearby . . . . . I think no less of him, but it does reaffirm my feeling on New York fans, but I know that all places have inappropriate people. Booeing someone at an All Star event like homerun derby?? It has to do with charity . . . . . That is a poor decision for anyone to boo at !!

Yeah! I knew there was a reason that Chase Utley was my favorite player. And not just because he is a second baseman. And I was a second baseman. Who made it to the Hall of Fame. Much like Chase Utley will. Of course, I would rather not comment on that because I am on the Hall of Fame committee.
(Sorry, talking like Joe Morgan is fun after listening to Rick Reilly stain ear all evening.)

... love the fact that my fellow fans, boo, cuss, scream, hiss and so on, but last night's display at the all-star game made me a little sick. As baseball Jesus, Chase Utley, was introduced the New York crowd booed him. Now, we all know (and cannot rationalize) any Yankees fan probably wouldn't boo Utley, but those visiting Mets fans certainly would. And they, of course, displayed the class I would expect of Mets fans...which is none. So what was Utley's response? Philadelphia Style! Even when Chase displays little class...he still has class ...

Chase Utley has a special message for New York fans
Published 7/15/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
... derby last night.
If there was a positive note, during his introduction to the New York fans he got booed but he got a chance to respond. He says “fuck you” to the fans, not loud enough that anyone can hear it of course. Oh except the camera that was panning by and that’s the reason it’s good news.
Utley got the chance to not only say it the New York fans but to fans who boo him all over the world. LoL. If only we were all so lucky.
