Trent Green Better Wear Some Bubble Wrap

... The Sun-Sentinel has a breaking news story about Trent Green being on the brink of being dealt to the Miami Dolphins. It's gonna happen. Really! I'm serious! It's happening! It's nearly a done deal! Trust me. In the umpteenth article discussing Green's impending move to the Dolphins, this one plays on a different twist. Mainly, that the Kansas City Chiefs may have a little more reason to make a deal pretty soon: The NFL's web site reported Wednesday night that Green is set to attend Kansas City's upcoming OTA (Organized Team Activity) sessions that begin Monday. The Chiefs cannot bar Green from participating in the OTAs, which are scaled-down versions of minicamp practices, and would have to guarantee his 2007 base salary of $7.2 million if he suffered a season-ending injury during a session. While such a scenario is unlikely, the risk of Green getting ser

... Various reports, including this one by Alex Marvez, are saying that the stalemate between the Dolphins and Chiefs over Trent Green could be coming to an end soon.  This is thanks to the fact that Green has said he WILL ne participating in Kansas City's voluntary mini-camp starting Monday.  Why is this a big deal?  Well the Chiefs don't want him there because, should Green get seriously injured, they'd be on the hook for his entire $7.2 million salary for 2007.  They'd prefer it if Green didn't show up.  By showing up, he is REALLY forcing the issue and it's believed that KC and Miami will soon come to terms on a deal for Green, possibly as early as this weekend.  But what will the price be?  A 5th rounder?  A 6th rounder?  And what does this mean for Daunte Culpepper?  Only time will tell.

... Really slow this weekend as the Chiefs prepare to get ready for OTA s starting next week. A couple of things for you before I go out of town tomorrow (girlfriends sister is graduating from KU, and yes I will be stopping by in Kansas City to get some Jack Stack or Gates. I haven t decided yet). Thanks to everyone who has voted so far in the COAT . Its going really well and Christian Okoye has made a late run to surpass Marcus Allen, Tony Richardson, and Abner Haynes. He has half the votes Larry Johnson has, but I am not sure if he will catch up to make the COAT tournament. He will have another day as we wrap up the running backs tomorrow. WR/TE to start on Monday. The Sun Sentinel is reporting that the Miami Dolphins are willing to up there offer of a 6th round pick for Trent Green . The million dollar question is what are the willing to give up that is more than a
