Adios, One Man Gang: Jared Allen Traded To Vikings

Update 12:00 AM CST: The teams also are expected to swap sixth-round picks. Breaking news from NFL.com –the Chiefs have sent Jared Allen to the Vikings . I’m actually quite happy with the two third rounders we got in addition to the No. 17 pick. By my calculations we now have six picks in the top 100, three in the top 40 and more trade value chart points than any other team out there. The draft now rolls through Kansas City. This is just crazy… The Kansas Chiefs have agreed to trade Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen to the Minnseota Vikings, reports NFL Network’s Adam Schefter. The Chiefs will receive Minnesota’s first- (17th overall) and both of its ...
Vikings Trade for Jared Allen

The Vikings defense just got upgraded in a big way as the Chiefs have traded defensive end Jared Allen to Minnesota for three draft picks. It's not easy to make a defense like that a whole lot better considering how much talent the Vikes already have, but adding Allen takes things to a whole new level. He is one of the leagues best defensive players, and seeing how much money he will be making is proof of that line of thinking. ...
It is finished…

Man, I took some time away from the computer to spend with the family, and what do ya know, the Jared Allen saga finally comes to an end. And just when I thought that maybe, just maybe, mild-mannered Clark Hunt would carpe the diem (bonus points for naming the movie that’s from) and sign JA to a long-term deal here in KC.
Multiple sources including the KC Star (late as usual), ESPN, and the NFL Network (they broke the news) have let it be known that the Chiefs and Vikings agreed on the compensation package, and a few minutes later it was announced that the Vikings had agreed to ...
Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings: What that means for us.

... There were a few of us in Jaguars land (myself included) who thought that trading for Allen would be a good idea. With the size of the deal, I'm pretty glad we didn't make him the highest paid player on the team. Though not because he's a risk, I believe it when his Chiefs teammates say he's quit drinking: ...

Good morning Saints fans! Lets get down to business. If the Giants decide to trade Jeremy Shockey this week, it won't necessarily be to the Saints. Bet you didn't think that was coming. I decided to start with that for something a little different. That comes from an article in the NY Daily News. Apparently ...

Some NFL comings and goings to get you by until the draft this Saturday... SEAHAWKS CUT SHAUN ALEXANDER -- As a 'Hawks fan, it's kind of a sad day. He's the team's all-time leading rusher and scorer, and he's dedicated to keeping ties to the Seattle area after he retires. He's an all-time great for sports in the Pacific Northwest... is how we'll remember him after he retires. Because he has truly sucked ass for the last two years, and watching him miss blocks, drop passes, and fall down behind the line of scrimmage got real old real fucking fast. VIKINGS ACQUIRE ALLEN FROM CHIEFS -- Jared Allen, Shaun ...

It's never too early to start making fun of Notre Dame. Not only do they have last year's ineffective QB Jimmy Clausen starting at QB, but they don't have any choice. The Vikings went out and completed the trade for notorious drunk Prow Bowl defensive end Jared Allen. They gave up three draft picks for him, which is fine since they don't have any obvious offensive holes. Earth Day does strange things to the funny pages. Labels: Links of the Day

Minnesota officially got their man and traded for Kansas City DE Jared Allen. Kansas City's fans might feel fine about the deal after Allen ended his tenure with the team on a sour note, but Minnesota got a good deal. It's a lot of money, over $30 million guaranteed, but he's the NFL sack leader. He is a major difference maker on any defense, but fills a huge need in Minnesota where they have no depth at defensive end and little pass rush. Plus at age 26, he's in his prime, and should be a great player over the next three years. The draft choice compensation turned out to be rather weak. The 1st round pick is 17th overall and clearly a solid pick to acquire, but the ...
