That according to the NY Daily News citing a source familiar with the test results. Wang was examined Monday at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia Medical Center by Stuart Hershon, the Yankees' team physician, Dr. Jason Greisberg, a foot and ankle specialist, the Yankees said. According to a statement released by the team, "Imaging studies revealed a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot." The Yankees released a statement saying Wang will be "on crutches and wear a protective boot for a minimum of six weeks." The injury to Wang's right foot is described as a sprain of the Lisfranc ligament and a partially torn tendon. While Anthony McCarron says surgery won't be necessary, Pete Abraham thinks this news is a lot worse than the Yanks are making it sound.
