Mario Chalmers might well wind up being the latest in the lineage of quality point guards unearthed in the second round by the Heat, following in the footsteps of Sherman Douglas, Bimbo Coles and Eddie House. But he hardly makes the Heat complete at the position.

... So more than likely, the Heat are looking at a series of stop-gaps or shopping for a trade, which is more likely. Still, the new position by Wade represents a step forward in his maturity as a player, and a willingness to not put too much on his shoulders. Wade is undoubtedly one of the league's premier players when he's in a system that facilitates his talents. Understanding that will get his career and his team back on track, even if the talent is not yet there. ...
