Webber’s NBA resume speaks for itself. The man is a legend. One of the greatest power forwards of all-time. But to truly appreciate the impact he’s had on the game of basketball, we have to go back to where it all started – the Fab Five. The NBA Hall of Fame is about excellence on the court but it also recognizes people who have “made significant contributions to the game of basketball.” [link]

Chris Webber Hanging Up His Kicks

Growing up in the D.C. Metropolitan-area, the main lingering memory I have of C-Webb is when the Washington Bullets mistakingly traded him to Sacramento for Mitch Richmond and Otis Thorpe, instead of Juwan Howard. No disrespect to Howard, who had his best NBA years in D.C., but C-Webb has Hall of Fame numbers and was much more exciting to watch.

Chris Webber's Legacy

Chris Webber's career is a classic example of the difference between putting up good numbers and having a Hall of Fame level impact. He is one of only six players to average at least 20 ppg, nine rpg and four apg for an entire career but no one seriously believes that Webber was as good as Elgin Baylor, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham or Kevin Garnett.
