Chris Webber's 15 year NBA career ended on Wednesday when he officially announced his retirement. Webber, who finished with career regular season averages of 20.7 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 4.2 apg, participated in just nine games this season with the Golden State Warriors; his balky left knee simply would not allow him to continue playing. Attendance Record for Spring Training Smashed

Major League Baseball drew a record total of 3,692,125 fans to Spring Training games in 2008, breaking last year’s high of 3,421,055, it was announced today. This marks the third time in the last four years that MLB’s record for overall Spring Training attendance has been set. Prior to 2005, the record for Spring Training attendance was 3,330,200 fans in 1994. The average Spring Training attendance in 2008 was 8,026 per game, surpassing the previous mark for highest average attendance, set in 1994 (7,709 per game). “Baseball continues to be more popular today than at any time in its history," said Baseball Commissioner Allan H. Colorado Rockies, Coors Agree to 10-year Deal

The Colorado Rockies and the #3 brewer in the United States have agreed to a deal that will keep the “Coors” in “Coors Field” for at least another 10 years. The deal, which includes licensing, advertising and hospitality rights, extends an agreement first signed when Coors Field opened in 1995. It also gives Molson Coors exclusive naming rights for a seating section behind home plate. The financial details have not yet been disclosed.
