Citi Field construction workers rupture water pipe

The delay of today’s game between the Mets and Pirates was caused by a break in the water main on 126th Street that serves Shea Stadium. It was a result of an excavation by construction workers who are building Citi Field next door. That the construction worker who ruptured the pipe was wearing a Jimmy Rollins jersey has not been confirmed. Mets executive VP for business operations Dave Howard was alerted to the problem at approximately 12:30 p.m. He said at a small news briefing at 1:30 ... [link]
