CLAUDIO REYNA RETIRES!
Published 7/15/2008 by Dave Martinez at New York Red Bulls
I am in shock. Seriously. I mean, we all expected Reyna to pull a “Djorkaeff” and simply fade into the history books. This is something else all together. I have to credit ESPN with this gem. Though Ives also says he was the first to report. Reyna is gone folks. For reals. So the question now remains - what of the DP? Well, depending on who you ask, the Bulls will either use the DP slot to address the gaping hole that is our forward lines, or MLS will not allow this to happen, instead sending the DP back to where ...

Reyna to retire!
Published 7/16/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (The Beautiful Game) at The Beautiful Game
From everything! Forever! It's kinda sad, but I can't remember watching this guy play since the World Cup. Nevertheless, Claudio Reyna (aka Captain America) is one of the few Americans that has earned street cred in Europe. He's played in England, Germany and Scotland at a high level. He's got 112 caps for the nat'l team. He's definitely on the Mount Rushmore of American soccer. Maybe we'll see him as a coach sometime soon. Farewell skipper.
