Several people have commented on the blog that Roger Clemens won’t make his comeback at Fenway Park June 1, 2 or 3 because Joe Torre wouldn’t throw him to the wolves like that. Maybe so. But this is a guy who snuck into Yankee Stadium and made a dramatic announcement from the owner’s box. Somehow I don’t think he shrinks from the big stage. And 38pitches.com ... [link]

And 38pitches.com saying, “We don’t need him” might be a little motivation, too. If Clemens is ready, Clemens will pitch. The Yankees aren’t dropping $4.5 million a month to have him watch those games. (Peter Abraham)
