Rocket Launches Defamation Suit Against Trainer
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
Guess that “emotional” Friday phone call didn’t patch things up, after all.
The HOUSTON CHRONICLE reports that Roger Clemens is suing the ex-trainer who accused the pitcher of past steroid use.
The Rocket filed the lawsuit against Brian McNamee on Sunday night, saying that the accusations McNamee gave the Mitchell Report about Clemens’ drug injections are untrue.

Rocket Goes To Court
Center Field —
... last night, Roger Clemens went on the offensive against Brian McNamee's threats to file a lawsuit against Roger... and Clemens filed a lawsuit of his own. Roger is suing McNamee for defamation - seeking an unspecified amount of damages- and a finding by the court that he did not defame McNamee. A 1-2 punch, in other words. Roger's filing alleges that McNamee only implicated Clemens after a federal prosecutor threatened McNamee.
Quoting from the lawsuit: ...

Clemens sues McNamee! For defamation! Why? Quoth Clemens' mouthpiece:
"We don't know what McNamee told (Mitchell). We don't know what vetting he did," Hardin said."
Well, my read of the Mitchell report reveals that McNamee told Mitchell he shot steroids into Clemens' bare ass.
Is Hardin's copy different from everyone else's?

Houston Chronicle: Clemens files defamation suit against his ex-trainer
BBTF's Baseball Primer Newsblog —
Houston Chronicle: Clemens files defamation suit against his ex-trainer Clemens’ lawsuit also asks a Texas court to declare that he has not defamed McNamee. McNamee’s New York lawyers have threatened to sue Clemens for defamation, depending what Clemens said on 60 Minutes. He’s covering all his bases. But I thought in the 60 Minutes interview, he said he was going to look at all his options, then decide what to do. By filing minutes before the airing, that sounds premeditated. Why not just say “I just sued him”?

Rocket’s Last Stand: Take the Poor Trainer to Court
The Big Lead —
Refused to watch the Clemens Interview on 60 Minutes because we already have our opinion about the man who allegedly cheated by getting steroids shot into his ass. Apparently, many people feel the same way. Once news of the interview was handed to media outlets this week, and public sentiment didn’t change, the Rocket was left with one last option - sue. Sunday night, the bully pitcher filed a defamation of character lawsuit against his former trainer, Brian McNamee. Our first thought: since the scare tactics haven’t worked over the last three weeks, Roger’s going to try to muscle ...
Clemens Sues McNamee
New York Yankees —
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Roger Clemens has officially filed a defamation lawsuit against former trainer Brian McNamee. The suit claims that McNamee knew that his allegations were false and made them with “actual malice.” It goes on to say,
“According to McNamee, he originally made his allegations to federal authorities after being threatened with criminal prosecution if he didn’t implicate Clemens.”
Clemens’ lawyer said that they may attempt to bring the case as high as federal court.
In addition, Clemens has agreed to testify before ...
