Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post paid a visit to Rox star Matt Holliday’s home, and came away with some great insight.  Holliday told Renck that he is willing to bend on the length of a possible long-term deal with the Colorado Rockies, if the team is willing to reciprocate… presumably adding years and dollars to the reported 4-year, $60 million offer they made (which would have included 2 years of arbitration).  Todd Helton’s 9-year, $141.5 million contract was mentioned in the piece.  While Holliday is not necessarily looking for the exact length of that deal, he would like something in the middle of the Rockies 4-year offer and Helton’s 9-year deal, it ...

UPDATE: (1/23) 11:54am (EST) - According to MLB.com, the Indians and Betancourt have agreed to a 2-year deal, with a club option for 2010.  Financial terms of the pact have not yet been disclosed.  Betancourt will become a FA after the 2009 season, if the Indians decide not to exercise their option.
