Cuzoogle +2The Nuggets are a joke. They are going to go back to the days of losing 150-145. -
Ben Q. Rock When did Robert Sarver buy the Nuggets? Jeez. -
bernsteino I hate the Nuggets. -
bloweisgod Denver did also recieve a 10 million dollar trade exception from the Clippers. This will give them flexibilty and get them under the dollar to dollar luxury tax threshold. The mistake Denver made wasn't dealing Camby, this deal was done because they were dumb enough to take on Allen Iversons 20M plus per year contract in hopes of being a real contender in the West, how did that work out for you Mr. Sarver? I feel bad for the fans of Denver because Camby was a class act on a team full of ego driven clowns! I just wish my team here in Detroit would have made a comparable offer because we need Camby's shot blocking and rebounding so we could move Sheed back to PF where is perfers to be. Good luck to both Denver and good luck to Camby in LA, where a better owner in Donald Sterling awaits your arrival LOL! -
AJ Vaynerchuk "Denver did also recieve a 10 million dollar trade exception from the Clippers."
That's the big win for the Nuggets. I think Denver may have realized that the Iverson / Anthony combo isn't a championship formula and this is the first step in a new direction.
Kudos to the clippers, Camby is a nice piece and is only under contract for 2 years. Adding defense and rebounding is never a bad thing. Hopefully the big guy can stay healthy.

chowell18 $23 million for $10 million and a 2nd rounder... What is this, MLB? How is this a fair, equitable trade under the CBA?
The Clippers make out like bandits - getting Camby w/out giving up anyone. WOW!
-
carty64 The Clippers may have stolen him, but the Nuggest left the windows down, the doors unlocked and the engine running. -
bloweisgod Well put carty64. That really is right on the money, Denver was in no position to take a salary back because they had no cap room to start with.
By moving Camby the take 15M off the payroll over the next 2 season, they get 10M trade exception which is as good as cash, plus the 2nd round swap was done because something tangible must be given in a trade, the addition of a second round swap is pretty much meaningless because if you are drafted in the 2nd round you do not get a guarenteed contract with the team that drafted you so again no money comes out of Denvers pockets. In short term Denver on paper got rid of Camby for nothing, but it's the long haul where eventually they can put this trade to use. Next they need to get out of that A.I. deal or work on a trade for Melo. You can't have two guys that need the ball to be effective. At least A.I can play D, and he has gotten better at passing the ball.

... ESPN is reporting that the Clippers made a big move on Tuesday when they agreed with the Nuggets on a deal that will send defensive stalwart Marcus Camby to LA for a future second round draft pick. Not a bad trade. Since the Clippers are under the cap, they don't need to give equal salary in return for Camby. Dumping the remaining two years of Camby's contract (worth nearly $15 million) will allow the Nuggets more flexibility to fill other needs on the team. Talk about a deal! The Clippers were close to making an offer for Josh Smith, but when this opportunity came up, they ...

... is reporting that the Denver Nuggets have agreed to a deal that will send Marcus Camby to the Clippers for just a second-round pick. Not sure how that makes sense for a guy who on his career had averaged close to 11, 10 and almost three blocks per game, or how this helps the Nuggets beyond trading the only effective defensive player on their entire roster for cap relief. Gotta think they’re clearing cap room in order to make a big move, but we will keep you posted. Source: ESPN.com

Nuggets Trade Marcus Camby to Clippers for Second Round Pick
Published 7/16/2008 by Matt Moore at FanHouse
Filed under: Clippers, Nuggets, WesternESPN is reporting that the Los Angeles Clippers have acquired center Marcus Camby from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for a second round pick. Yeah, that's it. Even at 34, Camby is a solid pick up for the Clippers, who of course are feeling a little short in the frontcourt after the Big Guy too off. Camby still averaged 9 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocs last season, and was probably the only bright spot on one of the league's worst defenses. This gives the Clippers a scoring heavy ...
