Can you tell that I'm bored? No? I didn't think so, cause I'm not. Thanks to John Clayton's piece on the NFL Coaches Hot Seat, I found a new topic to swan dive into. Simply put, I couldn't find myself agreeing 100% with Mr. Clayton's perspective of the five coaches he put on his hot seat, so I'm putting in a few of my own.

John Fox, Carolina

I agree with this decision mainly because of Fox's decision to not bring in a proven quarterback instead of Mr. First Round Bust, David Carr. Fox hasn't seen postseason  success since his team's dream trip to the Super Bowl many moons ago. It's one thing to say that he needs to win this season, but in Fox's case, he needs not only to win, but to also return to that postseason glory he once had.

With Jake Delhomme returning after surgery, he'll have his star quarterback in the lineup come preseason, but everyone knows you'll need more than that to be successful in the NFC South. Fox needs to improve his running game and also get a proven leader in this year's draft. We already know that Miami will blow their pick, so why not sacrifice a 3rd stringer or two to snag Darren McFadden before the Raiders decide to capitalize?

It's simple, Mr. Fox: Playoffs or Classifieds for you. Simple as that.

Scott Linehan, St. Louis

After giving Rams fans like myself something to cry about last season, we all were wanting Linehan's head on a silver platter. For some of us, that still rings true even with the passing of beloved Rams owner, Georgia Frontierre. So I have some choice things to say to Mr. Linehan.

After destroying the great legacy of St. Louis with that insulting 3-13 record last season, everyone in the Gateway City has made it clear that it's time to return to the glory days of the "Bob and Weave" Express. In this year's draft, the Rams should be focused on getting an offensive line that can handle doing the work for more than one month. It wouldn't hurt to get a decent backup quarterback for Marc Bulger. But just because you need immediate help doesn't mean you should go to the Ol' Folks home to get it (Gus Frerotte). That's Minnesota's job.

Bottom Line: Playoffs or Tar & Feathered. Your call, Scotty.

Marvin Lewis, Cincinnati

Even though they have had some decent seasons, the "Concinnati" Bengals have been in OZ more times than Dorothy or Tobias Beecher. The reason he's on the hot seat is simple: He can't control his players' off the field antics. Not exactly a good thing if you're a draft pick who is getting ready to come out and play in the pros.

After Chris Henry got arrested for the fifth or sixth time (I even lost count), people are starting to wonder if Chad Johnson is making the right decision in sticking around. The worst that has happened to Ocho Cinco is fines for his on the field fun antics. For Marvin Lewis, he has yet to go a year without one member of the Bengals organization getting busted for something completely retarded. Anyone else think that someone in Cincy was the real reason for Spygate?

Here's a thought, Marvin: Straighten them up or Pack it up.

Tony Sparano, Miami

Even though he hasn't had a game yet, Tony Sparano is still on the hot seat in the fan's eyes. Sparano takes over a team that received massive criticism after last year's draft. And the downward spiral that former coach Cam Cameron sent them on afterwards was downright atrocious.

Sparano will have to prove himself right off the bat. He has the first pick in this year's draft, and the Dolphins are in dyer need of rebuilding. The Fins will need to find a quarterback asap, and continue on down the path. A veteran will suffice for the moment, but they will need some serious help. And for the love pigskin, put duct tape on Jason Taylor's mouth.

For Sparano: Make things happen right out of the gate.

For Taylor: Shut your piehole and just play. Earn your awards on the field, not off.

Eric Mangini, NY Jets

Last season, Eric Mangini proved that his team has more PMS than a Raiders fan. His classical throwback style, complete with classical music, didn't get the job done, and the Spygate issue didn't help matters either. Not that this little problem will stop him from trying.

Mangini had to deal with the fact that the Patriots got dealt a severe blow by getting a first round pick taken from them. The problem is that the Jets are still as mediocre even without the Pats picking. What makes them more on the hot seat is the fact that the New York Giants had to go and win the Super Bowl against the very team that has used the Jets as a punching bag for the last few seasons.

Mangini: It's time to either stay and grow balls or leave and grow flowers. Either way, the Jets need to think playoffs right out of the gate.

That's my take on hot seat coaches. But this won't stop me from picking more coaches on the way out of the door. Stay tuned.
