If there was any doubt the Bears need to draft a quarterback come this spring, they’ve been slapped away now. Lovie Smith trotted out both ineffectual quarterbacks against the Washington Redskins, and the result was 16 points, and the 8th loss of the season, all but assuring the Bears will miss the playoffs.

So Last night Todd Collins came for the Redskins to replace an injured Jason Campbell. He also led the Redskins to a much needed win. That’s right I said Todd Collins. Yeah, I didn’t know who he was either
After not having much practice time this week after attending the funeral for their fallen comrade Sean Taylor, the Skins got a huge victory 24-16.
At 6-7 the Redskins are still very much in the playoff picture in the extremely weak NFC. Honestly, the Bears (5-8) still have an outside shot but you have to think that they can’t lose anymore games.

Either that, or Gibbs fell asleep and an intern started calling the plays.
And as Gumbel said with great emotion, for him, this was Collins' "best game of the century". And of the past decade as well.
