My Sports Rumors — ... Lawton was acquired for a conditional 2009 draft pick. Profootballtalk.com reports that the compensation would be a 7th round pick if Lawton makes the team. That makes sense as Lawton has never started a game in his NFL career. Lawton bounced around on a couple practice squads, before landing an appearance with the Jets in 2005. 2007 was most likely his best season, as he appeared in 11 games for the Indianapolis Colts. His career highlight was catching a 1-yard shovel pass from Peyton Manning for a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars. ...
