Garber Comments On Vancouver
Published 5/16/2008 by drew.epperley at WVHooligan - Soccer Blog
I swear I’m getting around to the MLS weekend previews here, but until then I wanted to discuss a headline on MLSnet.com about the Vancouver stadium situation. MLS Commissioner Don Garber took time today to address the stadium/expansion issue with Vancouver. There had been announcements today that BC Place in Vancouver would undergo renovations (and get a retractable roof), that sparked some interest in the MLS front offices. “We believe Vancouver is a potential market for a future Major League Soccer expansion team. There is no doubt the market for professional soccer exists in Vancouver, as we saw last November when nearly ...

The Don Issues a Statement on Vancouver

So the British Columbian government announces that they are going to renovate Vancouver's BC Place Stadium and outfit it with a retractable roof. Then it's announced that the USL 1 Whitecaps will begin playing there in 2011. Now MLS commissioner Don Garber has issued a statement on said developments. Are ducks being put in a row or am I just one of those conspiracy crazies who think that JFK was killed by the CIA if I think that something ...

MLS In Vancouver?
Published 5/16/2008 by dunny at TheOriginalWinger.com
MLS Commish Don Garber has released a statement regarding the BC Place stadium renovation project. I remember the days when the Tampa Bay Mutiny and the Miami Fusion (which I was a part of) were contracted, so to hear that expansion is possible happening again is a great thing. But we should be sure that the product on the field is as valuable as it is up in the stands. 50k in 2007 and 37k this year for Galaxy exhibitions are good numbers. Please just make sure the renovations include GRASS.  I’ll say it again, GRASS! image via Destinations360
