Providence Upsets UConn For The Second Time

The Providence Friars needed a win against the UConn Huskies to help their chances to secure a berth in the Big East Tournament next week. Well they got that much needed victory as they outplayed the Huskies and beat them 85-76 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI on Thursday night. The Huskies have already clinched a first round bye and will be seeded 4th.

2008 Big East Women’s Basketball Regular Season Awards Announced

On Friday night in Hartford, CT, the Big East announced their regular season awards for basketball and I’d have to say that the UConn Huskies players did alright. Maya Moore continues to make history in the Big East and at UConn as she became the first player in the history of the conference, men or women, to take home the Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year Honors.
