Aaron Cook pitched eight strong innings and Brian Fuentes earned his first save in 10 months to help the Colorado Rockies end a four-game skid with a 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. Cook (3-1) won his third straight start and halted the Cubs' six-game win streak. Chicago had won nine of its last 10 games.

... Just when it looked like the Cubs were on their way to pulling out another tough fought game....Ryan Theriot dropped the ball on a double play transfer to end the 8th inning, the Rockies scored the go-ahead run and then went on to win 4-2. Sometimes you win games like these, sometimes you lose them and I think the Cubs were due to lose but they didn't give up without a fight. ...
