Just more than two weeks after Chad Cordero had major right shoulder surgery, he has learned of the team's decision to non-tender him at the end of the season. GM Jim Bowden revealed the team's intentions in an interview yesterday with SportsTalk 980. Bowden and other sources confirmed the decision this morning. Wow, it’s been an extremely slow news day today, so I figured I’d touch on this one.  According to Chico Harlan of The Washington Post (click here for the post), GM Jim Bowden today revealed that the Nationals planned to non-tender Chad Cordero at the end of the season, making him a free agent. If Chad Cordero decides to tell the Washington Nationals to go take a long walk off a short pier this offseason it won't be difficult to assign at least part of the blame. When it comes to discussing player performance and compensation, Jim Bowden just shouldn't. The personality quirks that make him entertaining (or embarrassing) as a GM/Carnival barker also suggest that he should be fitted with one of those electro-shock dog collars when discussing team business on the record. ...
