Could Ichiro be part of the mass exodus in Seattle? - Jon Heyman - SI.com
NEW YORK -- Before he was let go as Mariners general manager, Bill Bavasi was telling his bosses that the team's problem was the players, not manager John McLaren . Bavasi's bosses must have disagreed. First they fired Bavasi himself. Then they axed McLaren. But now, with the team buried 19.5 games out in the AL West, the Mariners are finally looking to shake up the roster. As interim GM Lee ... [link]

Heyman's Latest: Mariners, Brewers
Published 6/25/2008 by Tim Dierkes at MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
... Let's take a gander at Jon Heyman's latest column at SI.com. Heyman says three GMs who would have interest in Ichiro Suzuki have been told he's not available.  Nonetheless, Heyman suggests trading the face of the franchise would be the best way to shake things up in Seattle. The Mariners have other valuable trade commodities: Erik Bedard, Raul Ibanez, and Adrian Beltre.  Most of the team's other vets aren't valued highly, though Jarrod Washburn has strung ...

Other GMs Are Also Crazy Persons

... Cue Jon Heyman: But now, with the team buried 19.5 games out in the AL West, the Mariners are finally looking to shake up the roster. As interim GM Lee Pelekoudas, a 29-year veteran of the organization, put it to SI.com, "Everyone's interim." Technically, that would even include the organization's crown jewel, Ichiro. Ichiro Apparently Staying Put
Published 6/26/2008 by Jon Shields at Bleeding Blue and Teal
... That isn’t the case, according to Sports Illustrated’s Jon Heyman.  He wrote that three GM’s have been told that he is unavailable, one GM mentioning that he is nearly untradeable as “Mr. Mariner.”  Heyman thinks it’s a good idea to deal Ichiro, one of the reasons being his alleged contributions toward bad team chemistry. ...

Trade Ichiro? Please, shut up

... hitter in the game. I think Ichiro does what’s best for Ichiro while at the same time stressing the importance of “team.” There seems to be a contradiction there that just rubs me the wrong way. Does this mean I would like to see Ichiro shipped off at the trading deadline? Well, no, I’m not a total effing idiot. Along with pitchers Felix Hernandez and Brandon Morrow, Ichiro is off the trading block. Plus, the Japanese ownership would have nothing to do with it. A recent Sports Illustrated piece written by Jon Heyman outlines the reasons that Ichiro should be ...

2008 Fantasy All Stars

While the AL is trouncing the NL in interleague play yet again, the NL has emerged as the Talent League, with the majority of elite fantasy players residing in the Senior of the two circuits.
