There is some chatter (and before I get jumped on for jumping the gun, this chatter is currently in the embryonic stages) that Jimmy Rollins ' ankle injury is worse off than we thought. According to WIP radio (via our fine friends at Metsblog ), Rollins' ankle isn't just sprained or strained, but it's broken. AOL Sports reports that Jimmy Rollins may have a broken ankle, which would keep him out for at least a month. The big word here is "may." Nothing is definite but this could certainly be true as it was reported by Metsblog and Off The Record. We'll see, but Rollins owners can't be happy about their first round pick, 2007 NL MVP and one of the few players to play in 162 games last year potentially being out for an extended period of time. ...

Good news for Philadelphia Phillies fans, Jimmy Rollins does not have a broken ankle. I reported the rumor yesterday posted on OTR / gcobb.com, and if you read that I was very skeptical of the sources. Well into today’s Philadelphia Inquirer it was noted that Jimmy Rollins will be taking batting practice today in Clearwater, Florida.
