... that Detroit has offered to trade Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince twice this off season already. The first time was to try to pry Carmelo Anthony away from Denver. The second offer was to Houston for Tracy McGrady. Both offers were rejected. With the rumors that Detroit is considering making a bid for Artest they could be making a 3rd attempt to trade Billups and Prince. There seems to be some smoke here and there may be some fire behind it. It would be interesting to see the crowd react to Ron Ron being introduced to the Palace crowd for the first time as a Piston. ...
Former Detroit Piston Maurice Evans signs with Golden State

... Evans, it more than likely means the Warriors will not match the three-year, $9 million contract restricted free agent Kelenna Azubuike signed with the Los Angeles Clippers last week. Golden State have until Friday to match Azubuike's deal, but Evans represents a cheaper _ and perhaps better _ alternative. The Pistons are still in search of their own backup swingman. The Sac Bee's Sam Amick reported that he had one Piston source that claimed the Pistons were interested in Ron Artest, he now claims to have that source verified by a second one .

... around them. According to the Sacramento Bee’s Sam Amick, the piece that makes the deal complete is Tayshaun Prince. Clearly the Pistons are willing to part with Tayshaun if the piece in return is right. It’s too bad that Artest and the Palace share a tumultuous past, to say the least. He’s the exact type of player that the blue-collar Motor City could rally around. Now that this rumor is legit, how should Pistons fans react to the possibility of Artest in Detroit? Piston rumors on Artest seem crazy

... Ron Artest
Now really, after the Malice in the Palace, do you expect Joe Dumars to pick up Ron Artest?
Sure enough, a second source close to the Pistons has indicated Detroit is pondering a trade for Ron-Ron. I’m not sure of the opinions of the Pistons’ powers-that-be - namely team president Joe Dumars and owner Bill Davidson - but it says plenty that the chatter surrounding the mere idea is spreading around them.
