Oakland Athletics shortstop Bobby Crosby was dropped from the starting lineup for Monday's exhibition game against the Los Angeles Angels due to back spasms. Crosby, who missed the final two months of 2006 with a fractured vertebrae in his back, was working out with the team in the morning when he started experiencing tightness. [link]

This has to be disheartening to both Crosby and the Athletics : Oakland Athletics shortstop Bobby Crosby was dropped from the starting lineup for Monday's exhibition game against the Los Angeles Angels due to back spasms. I wonder if at some point the Athletics just drop Bobby. Is there really any chance he's ever going to live up to his potential? His seasonal age is 28 for 2008, meaning he should be playing at his peak. All the injuries retarded his growth as a hitter, and I wouldn't be surprised if Oakland was just better off finding a new solution at shortstop. The Baseball ...
