Development News: Beckham wins his first MLS Player of the Week honor

David Beckham had a breakthrough night at the GALAXY home-opener in the second week of MLS. His excellent ninth-minute goal, along with an assist to Landon Donovan in their 2-0 win over the Earthquakes was what inspired the North American Soccer Reporters to vote him the MLS Player of the Week. The goal was his first league goal, and this was his first time winning the MLS P-O-W honor.
