Cubs Wasting Soriano’s Talents
Great article on a topic that I totally agree with. Every time I've seen the Cubs this year, they've had the Fonze batting lead off. How many walks does this guy get a year? Like 12?

It's true.  He is not a model lead-off hitter, but he also puts up his best numbers from the lead-off spot.  He hits the most hrs, steals the most bases, hits for the highest average, gets the most rbi's.  The leadoff spot is where he produces best.

It doesn't matter.  They need a decent lead-off hitter.  A guy who gets on base and actually sets up the offense.  I'd rather have Fukudome there than Soriano.

The Cubs should have pulled the Pie/Gallagher for Brian Roberts deal. That would have given them a legitimate leadoff hitter, and then they could have had both Soriano and Fukudome in the middle of the line-up.

Soriano is losing his speed anyway. He should be batting sixth, behind Lee and Fukudome.
