Great article on a topic that I totally agree with. Every time I've seen the Cubs this year, they've had the Fonze batting lead off.
How many walks does this guy get a year? Like 12?

Fred9964 It's true. He is not a model lead-off hitter, but he also puts up his best numbers from the lead-off spot. He hits the most hrs, steals the most bases, hits for the highest average, gets the most rbi's. The leadoff spot is where he produces best. -
BrianDaubach7 It doesn't matter. They need a decent lead-off hitter. A guy who gets on base and actually sets up the offense. I'd rather have Fukudome there than Soriano. -
DaveKingman The Cubs should have pulled the Pie/Gallagher for Brian Roberts deal. That would have given them a legitimate leadoff hitter, and then they could have had both Soriano and Fukudome in the middle of the line-up. -
fastbreakblog Ricky says Ricky doesn't like Soriano in the leadoff spot. -
noonzy Soriano is losing his speed anyway. He should be batting sixth, behind Lee and Fukudome.
