If your mind doesn't immediately say "lock," in other words you have to think about it, than he probably shouldn't be going to the Hall. Continuing the conversation started at TBL & SN... Between injuries, Schilling was an innings-eating monster, piling up complete games like a pitcher from the 60’s. He won 20 games in a season 3 times. If not for the injuries, I have no doubt Schilling at least flirts with 300 wins.

Surgery result optimistic for Schilling

It encompassed four separate surgeries, two involving a diseased biceps tendon, a similar procedure to a SLAP - Superior Labrum from Anterior to Posterior - lesion tear in the pitcher’s labrum, and a small adjustment made to Schilling’s rotator cuff.The most encouraging aspect of the operation was the minimal damage found in Schilling’s rotator cuff.
