Del Harris expected to sign with Bulls today
Published 7/2/2008 by your friendly BullsBlogger at Blog a Bull
... Dallas Morning News: Del Harris, who served as assistant coach to Don Nelson and Avery Johnson over a nine-year stay with the organization, is expected to sign a contract today to be an assistant in Chicago for new Bulls' coach Vinny Del Negro, a source said. Harris has spent more than 40 years in coaching at virtually every level. He has 506 wins as an NBA head coach. He joined the Mavericks in 2000 and was top assistant to Nelson until Nelson gave over the coaching reins to Johnson in 2005. Harris served as a ...

Gerald Green gets another chance
Published 7/2/2008 by Kelly Dwyer at Ball Don't Lie
After tempting us in Boston, flaming out in Minnesota, and barely showing up in his hometown of Houston, high-flyer (legally required to call him that) Gerald Green has signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. It's not mentioned in the story from the Dallas Morning News, but it's hard to imagine the deal being guaranteed, and it's likely for the league minimum. Now, Green has had his moments (after the jump), and he did win the Slam Dunk Contest in 2007, but to me he's known for possibly the most damning hoops anecdote of the modern era. ...

Championship Banner… blah blah blah… players something or other

... I know there are some Gerald Green fans still around.  You’ll be happy to know he’s getting a shot with the Dallas Mavericks.  I really do wish him well.  I hope he gets his act together and makes it.  He’s so damn talented… it’d be a shame for that to go to waste. ...

Gerald Green Signs With Mavs For (Perhaps) Once Last Chance in the NBA
Published 7/2/2008 at The Sporting Blog
[image] Enough of this All-Star, max deal, every franchise making phone calls crap. Let's get down to some real, life-and-death free agent stuff. For anyone who closely follows the NBA and is loathe to give up on anyone under the age of 25, Gerald Green has remained a subject of some interest. And now, he's getting yet another chance to make good on his potential, this time with the Mavs . Not clear how much he signed for, but it's believed to be one year. Off-the-charts athleticism, three-point range, some qualities of a poor man's T-Mac, the talent of this high school ...

The Dallas Mavericks Quietly Abscond with Former Dunk Champ Gerald Green

22-year-old Gerald Green has as much raw athleticism and explosiveness as any player in the National Basketball Association. It’s just a fact: the young man is spectacularly gifted. Unfortunately for Gerald there’s more to professional basketball than high-flying acrobatics with the ball in your hands. There’s also a little something called defense.
