Mark Cuban's policy bans blogger(s) from Dallas Mavericks locker room
Unless Mark Cuban changes his mind, I won't be posting any more nuggets from the Mavs' locker room on this here blog. I'm told that the timing is a coincidence, but the Mavs decided to ban bloggers from the locker room Feb. 29, the day after Jason Kidd watched the final 34 seconds in San Antonio and hours after I wrote this post reacting to some fans' Fire Avery crusade . It took the Mavs ... [link]

This story, like every other story where someone says anything remotely derogatory about "bloggers" in general, is getting blown way, way out of proportion. I'm sure I'll be vilified for saying that, but that's how I feel about it.

Mark Cuban Dislikes Bloggers Who Aren't Him [Mark Cuban]
Published 3/10/2008 by Leitch at Deadspin
We know. You're like us. You've always wished professional sports owners could be more like Mark Cuban. He's cool! He's like a real fan! He has a blog! He's not afraid to pick a nonsensical fight with Midwesterners! But, alas, we should perhaps not be too surprised: He's as bad as the rest of them. Perhaps worse. After a Dallas Morning News reporter/blogger broke some embarrassing news about a "Fire Avery Johnson" campaign after a game late last month, the Mavericks and Cuban announced that no one writing a blog will be allowed in the ...

So About The Internets: Commentary on the Mavericks Blog Ban.
Published 3/11/2008 by Hardwood Paroxysm at Hardwood Paroxysm
When I first heard the news, I was sad. I didn't want to add Cuban to the running list of Top 10 Douchebags in the NBA for Hardwood Paroxysm (that's a whole other post on it's own). Luckily the head Maverick came out and explained his position. But I'm still not satisfied. It's funny, because I've surprisingly had more than one conversation about this. I was asked in New Orleans about it by a D-League exec, and then again by a Toros official. Now, there's a huge separation between the D-League and the NBA, obviously. Like, oh, say, an average of ...
